I used to like
Late nights
Up
By myself
With nothing better to do than
Think
About everything
And nothing
At the same time
(Perhaps)

I didn't have to spend
My nights
Alone
I know
But I liked it
(Then)

Now, though
I wonder
Who I could spend them with
And I think
I know.

I know
But I dare'’t say it.
You would tell them
Or they would find out
Somehow (they always do)

That’s why
I remember
I spent them alone
In the first place
(The nights, I mean)
Yes, I remember
(Now)

Of course you wouldn't mean
To tell them -
No one ever does
I think
But they find out
(Anyway)

But

I suppose I can tell you
At least this
But no more
For
You see
It's too dangerous,
But:
I don't spend
All my nights
Alone
Anymore
(No more)

I liked the way it ends. :)

It sounds much better read aloud.
