"Tell me something
Tell me anything
Tell me of love,"
He said.

"Give me a story
A small, simple story
A story of love,"
He said.

I simply smiled
And looked at the child
"A story of love, you say?"

"Just simple and sweet
Novel and neat
A a story of love,"
He said.

"A young man came one day
To the sands to play
And there he found another.

In the white dunes he found
Lying down on the ground
The one who would be his lover.

And then the time stopped
And their lips locked
And they knew it would last forever;

The two young men
Later stopped time again
And vowed to leave never."

"That story is true,
It's not very new, but
It's a story of love,"
I said.

My son looked at me,
His eyes shining with glee,
And said, "That's okay. I love you anyway."

Love that, I wonder what my son would say.
