DIABOLIQUE

Carrying the fire, I creep and crawl,

the depths of darkness, to set em’ aside.

I hold my fire and shivers set in for darkness,

the heat of burning bright.

Yet, a cautioned I, creep and crawl.

I withhold my step for a quick rethink.

I see and say, “With light I step into darkness

Need I creep and crawl, need I make the darkness

shiver with the fire shone and yet creep and crawl.”

“Do I march with mighty precision to stand tall?

battering all darkness into oblivion”

“Oh! How silly you are? As silly as can be.

Be my prime example of earthy flattery”

“Who’s that? Why do you hide?

Reveal yourself and let me decide.”

Out steps my conscious, to reveal the other of me.

“I am the light” says the conscious I.

“you are the darkness” the other of me.

“Behold yourself! Get a grip of me, stand tall, need not creep and crawl ,
“For I am the light in the darkness of it all, so shiver not

With that fire and all, for without you, there’d be no light at all.”
